The Student Counseling Service is happy to be able to provide treatment for students presenting with anxiety and depression through the use of Therapist Assisted Online (TAO). TAO is a 7-8 week program utilizing two distinct modules that teach students about topics such as cognitive distortions, mindfulness, and relaxation strategies. After completing each module, students meet with their counselor through a HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing tool for 5-10 minutes. Research is showing that TAO outcomes are at least as effective as traditional face-to-face therapy, but have the advantage of saving valuable time for both the student and the clinician.

More information about TAO is available on the TAO Connect website.

If you are interested in TAO, please contact us at 979.845.4427 to schedule a screening with a counselor to determine if it is a good fit for you.
